It was a cupcakes-for-dinner kind of night. Unsure if this was a first or not, and only time will tell if it was a last.
I have the pleasure of living between my train stop and one of the two Flirty Cupcakes Dessert Garage locations. Long days at work are made just that much better with a sweet little treat in front of your DVR afterwards.
I always have a soft spot for chocolate cake or chocolate chip cookie when my sweet tooth calls, so I was in luck – Me Want Cookie Dough was waiting for me when I got off that El today. In true form, though, I saw another good looking item and asked about it, which led to a second purchase – McDreamy.
Me Want Cookie Dough
A chocolate cake, filled with gooey cookie dough filling, topped with cookie dough pieces
I was a BIG fan of this treat. Loved the cake, the cookie dough tasted the right amount of sweet and not so decadent that it gives you that too-much-sugar pucker-face. My only suggestion to the gang at Flirty is to watch the top perimeter of the cake so it does not get hard. Mine wasn’t hard per se , but it was a noticeably different toughness. Still a great choice, nonetheless!
A chocolate cake, filled and topped with cream cheese frosting, garnished with chocolate chips (you can pick your jaw up now)
I originally stopped in for the cookie dough treat but this one may have come out as my favorite of the two in the end. The balance of the cream cheese frosting on top, and the rich chocolate cake, with just a little dab of cream cheese in the middle, is the perfect taste.
I can’t wait to try some of their other treats! The giant cookies look amazing and these milk shots their website has on the menu sound dee-lish!
Flirty Cupcakes has two locations and also boasts their cupcake van a.k.a. “Big Blue” who will visit you downtown during the workday. Check the calendar on their website to see when you can grab one of their tasty treats on your lunch break. The website also includes information on classes and parties that they host if you are looking to up your cupcake game.
